Passive RFID Temperature Sensor

Passive RFID Temperature Sensor

The door's open and closed status can be accurately judged, and the temperature sensor also has high accuracy to ensure data reliability.
Small size, easy to install on various types of doors, does not affect the normal use and appearance of the door.
Powered by RFID reader energy, it eliminates battery replacement and reduces maintenance costs during long-term deployment.
Designed with anti-metal capability, this RFID temperature tag can maintain stable performance even when attached to metallic surfaces.

Description
overview

Passive RFID Temperature Sensor Tag combines RFID identification, door open/close detection, and temperature monitoring in one device. It is designed for cabinets, equipment enclosures, cold rooms, electrical panels, and other applications that require both access status and environmental monitoring.

The system consists of a sensor and a magnetic trigger. When the door opens or closes, the sensor detects the change in the magnetic field and records the door status while monitoring the surrounding temperature.

Built with the CAB1/VBL7 chip and compliant with ISO18000-6C GEN2 V2, the tag supports reliable long-range RFID reading of up to 10 meters (depending on the reader and installation conditions). Its metal-resistant design allows stable performance on metal doors and cabinets.

ROI Benefits

Reduce Manual Inspection by 30–60%

Instead of checking doors and equipment one by one, operators can verify door status and temperature through RFID readers.

For facilities with multiple cabinets, cold rooms, or electrical panels, this can reduce routine inspection time by 30–60% and save several hours of labor each week.

Reduce Unnecessary Site Visits

Remote RFID data collection helps maintenance teams identify abnormal door openings or temperature changes before sending personnel on-site, reducing unnecessary inspections and improving response efficiency.

frequently ask question

Q: Does the tag require a battery?

A: No. It is a passive RFID sensor tag powered by the RFID reader.

Q: Can it be installed on metal doors?

A: Yes. The tag is designed for on-metal applications and maintains stable reading performance.

Q: How does the door detection work?

A: The sensor detects changes in the magnetic field between the sensor and magnetic trigger to determine whether the door is open or closed.

Q: What is the recommended installation distance?

A: For reliable detection, keep the sensor and magnetic trigger within 25 mm (1 inch) when the door is closed.
