Description

Our Tamper Evidence NFC Tag uses an NTAG216 chip, printable white PET and an adhesive tamper-proof structure. Its 888-byte user memory supports projects that need more NFC content than compact NTAG213 labels, while the removal-sensitive construction helps expose unauthorized transfer.

When the NTAG216 Memory Capacity Is Useful

NTAG216 is suitable when the encoded NFC record requires more space than a short identifier. Buyers should still calculate the actual NDEF record size because formatting overhead reduces the space available for visible content.

1

Longer Digital Destinations

The larger user memory can accommodate longer URLs or structured NDEF content when confirmed against the final encoding format.

2

Extended Product Information

Compact product, service or authentication information can be stored when an external lookup is not the only requirement.

3

Multi-Record NFC Content

Projects needing more than one supported NDEF record should submit the complete data package for a capacity check.

Application Selection

Match the Tag to the Security and Data Task

Application NFC Task Tamper Task Critical Sample Check
Secure packaging Provide product or package information Expose removal or transfer Adhesion and damage on the final carton or container
Product authentication Connect the item to a controlled digital record Keep the identity associated with the original item Scan workflow and post-removal behavior
Pharmaceutical packaging Support item or package identification Show unauthorized label disturbance Packaging compatibility and project compliance requirements
Asset identification Store or link asset information Discourage unnoticed tag relocation Surface material, metal proximity and removal response
Tamper Acceptance

Define the Required Result After Removal

  • State whether visible damage is mandatory
  • Confirm whether NFC communication must stop
  • Identify the exact application surface
  • Define the adhesive bonding time before testing
  • Specify the removal direction and test method
  • Check whether separated pieces can still be read
  • Record the approved result with sample photos

Tamper Evidence Is Surface-Dependent

The same tag can produce different removal results on coated paper, plastic, glass or textured surfaces. Adhesive contact, surface energy, curvature and removal speed all affect the final damage pattern.

Approve the construction using the actual substrate rather than an unattached tag.

Encoding Preparation

Calculate the NFC Record Before Production

We can support personalization and encoding after the content and data format are confirmed. Submit the complete record instead of estimating capacity from the visible character count alone.

Record Type

Specify URL, text, identifier or another supported NDEF format.

Complete Payload

Provide the final destination or data rather than a temporary example.

Write Protection

Define whether data must remain rewritable or be protected after encoding.

Variable Matching

Confirm how chip data, printed codes and product records correspond.

Printing and Installation

Prepare the Finished White PET Label

  • Confirm final dimensions before creating artwork
  • Separate fixed graphics from variable data
  • Define barcode, text and personalization requirements
  • Keep critical printing clear of the cutting area
  • Check adhesion on flat and curved surfaces
  • Avoid direct metal placement unless specifically evaluated
  • Verify NFC reading after final package assembly

Short Read Range Requires Clear Scan Positioning

The published reading reference is approximately 1.3 cm and depends on the reader. Packaging artwork should indicate the intended tap location when the antenna is hidden beneath the printed face.

Test the finished product with the target smartphones or readers before bulk approval.

Sample Approval

Verify the Complete Tag Configuration

  • Confirm dimensions against the approved drawing
  • Inspect printing, cutting and antenna position
  • Read the complete encoded NDEF record
  • Test every approved phone or reader model
  • Check adhesion after the required bonding period
  • Perform the agreed removal test
  • Record NFC behavior before and after removal

Information Needed for Quotation

Send the application surface, required quantity, destination country, final dimensions, artwork, complete NFC data, device models, tamper-test requirement and packaging preference.

If the label will be placed near metal, liquid or electronic components, include an installation drawing or sample photo.

Procurement Questions

Tamper Evidence NFC Tag FAQ

Why choose NTAG216 for a tamper-evident tag? +

NTAG216 provides 888 bytes of user memory, making it suitable for longer URLs or larger supported NDEF records. Select it only after the complete encoded payload and target-device compatibility have been checked.

Does the tag stop reading after it is removed? +

The published product is described as tamper proof, but the exact post-removal behavior must be confirmed on the actual surface. State whether visible damage, communication failure or both are required.

Can NFC smartphones read the NTAG216 chip? +

NTAG216 uses NFC ISO 14443A and is intended for compatible NFC-enabled devices. Test the required phone models, operating systems, NFC record and final installation position before deployment.

Can the tag be installed directly on metal? +

This white PET configuration is not identified as an anti-metal tag. Metal can reduce or block communication. Send the substrate and installation layout so the correct construction can be evaluated.

Can we print and encode a different value on every tag? +

Yes. We support variable printing, personalization and encoding. Provide the source data, record format, printed-code rules and required one-to-one matching relationship.

What should we provide before requesting samples? +

Provide the application surface, required dimensions, tamper-test result, phone or reader models, complete NFC data, artwork, quantity, variable-data requirements, packaging preference and destination country.

Confirm Dimensions, NFC Data and Tamper Response

Send the application surface, required size, complete NFC record, device models, artwork, tamper-test requirement and quantity. We will review the configuration before preparing samples.
